Jackson Meets His Granna!

Jackson met his Granna for the first time on February 25th. We didn't do much while she was in town- the doctor didn't want us to take him in public just yet- so, Suzy just spent time holding, cuddling Jackson. I was glad to have her around! I think he is going to get spoiled every time he is around his grandparents! We had such a nice visit and Jackson enjoyed getting to know his Granna!

Jackson's First Bath!

Jackson's cord finally fell of on February 15th and we were able to give him a bath in his adorable baby tub! He was not a big fan, obviously! He smelled so good afterward!
His hand calmed him down a little!

Thank God that's over!!!

Jackson's First Trip to the Doctor!

Jackson's first doctors appointment was February 12th. He was still 20" long and weighed 6lbs, 4oz- almost back up to birth weight! We are very pleased with the doctor we chose-Dr. Somers. We met him while I was still in the hospital and he frequently checked on Jackson in the NICU. Jackson did really well at his first appointment! I think he was so used to being messed with by doctors that it didn't bother him. Lucky for him, he did not need any shots at this visit! He did not, however, care for the cold scale!

Yay! We survived our first doctor appointment!

Jackson Finally Comes Home and Meets His 'G'!

Jackson's 2 weeks in the hospital were the longest two weeks of our lives, but on Tuesday, February 10th, we got to finally bring our sweet little guy home! The night before, we stayed in one of the NICU's 'nesting' rooms with him. We wanted one night in the hospital with him in case we had issues with his heart monitor. It was comforting to know the nurses were just a call away if we needed anything. We didn't get much sleep but Jackson made it through the night without any bradycardia episodes and the next morning during their rounds, the doctors decided not to send him home on the monitor! The news made my day! I was finally going to be able to hold my baby without all the wires and beeps! He would finally be all ours! I was so thankful that my mother was able to be in town for his homecoming. She arrived the day before his discharge.

Jackson in his crib for the first time! I think he was happy to be home!

Jackson's first night went well. We were up every 3 hours to feed him, then he would just go right back to sleep. I was a little nervous having him home so I didn't sleep much in between. As much as I wanted him off the monitors, it was scary not knowing at all times what his heart rate was, and if he was breathing okay. I knew it would take a while to get used to. It was such a relief having my mother here. She really helped me settle in with Jackson, and I felt safe knowing she was there to help. We were so thrilled to have him home! Now we could finally enjoy our precious baby!

The next few days were so nice! Life was so much easier with him at home! The day after bringing him home, a nurse from the NICU came to check on him, which made me feel better. The next day was his first doctor appointment. My mom was able to spend the whole week with us and she helped so much! I so wish we lived closer to family! I think she enjoyed cuddling Jackson. He loves his G!
